In my country (or maybe I can say on South East Asia), Santau or black magic is still being practised even though my country (for example) has been one of the developed country in Asia. Most of people still practise such knowledge was because the nature of my own race that can't bear to see other people's achievement (not all of them, but among them, and those who have it are one dangerous people) so the only way they can think was to eliminate the guy by using black magic. Vicious Ape-Man
This is the real story happened in my country around 10-20 years ago. I remembered of reading a story of a witness who encountered this big guy around 30 years ago, which he claimed he met them not once but several times plus he once fought with them as they broke into the village of his grandfather's friend and disturbed the villagers for quite sometimes. But everything changed when he and his grandfather came to the village and aided the villagers.
